I did not have the issue before I updated to Big Sur. I am currently running Big Sur, version 11.5.2. Sorry for the late reply, things have been rather hectic lately. Whenever I open some Microsoft Office files (Word, PowerPoint) the date modified changes to.
I did notice though, that Image Capture does sometimes download the same photos a second (or third or fourth) time when downloading from my iPhone 7+, but never from my iPad mini 3 & 5. Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel. My last download from my iPhone 7+ straight to an external HDD dates from Oct 2nd and didn't have the problem you described. If you’ve downloaded a file through a browser like Safari or Chrome on your Mac, you might be confused about where the file ended up. If the Downloads folder isn't on the dock, open Finder and navigate to Users > (Username) > Downloads to find your downloads. You can also use -anewer for accessed and -cnewer file status changed. Click the Downloads folder on your Mac's dock to view your downloaded files. In this case, the file is at midnight touch -t 0810010000 /tmp/t Now we can find all files that are newer or older than the above file (going by file modified date). On your Mac, do any of the following: Use Spotlight: Open Spotlight, enter the file’s name in the search field, then double-click the file in the search results. It's two steps but I like to do it this way: First create a file with a particular date/time. I was then able to move the photos to an external drive without issue. The date created and modified are the dates that the pictures were taken.
Today I downloaded photos I took in the last 2 weeks to the internal hard drive. I did a little searching on the internet and found that one of the recent updates to the Mac operating system caused this issue when saving to external drives.
